Green small friends

Since a couple of years ago, Japanese government adopted a system which a resident can choose to which local government we pay inhabitant tax. In return of tax payment, we can receive a gift from that local government.

Most of the gifts are locally produced/made. I have a friend totally relies on this for the food supply. It is kind of fun to search gifts and voila! there's some terrific treats.

These greens are "air plants" from Mie prefecture. Each of them has a name tag and looks so healthy. If I'm lucky, they can bloom a flower! Can't wait.

ふるさと納税で、いろいろな都道府県市町村からお返しの品物をもらうのが楽しい。

友達の中にはほとんどの食品をふるさと納税に頼っている人もいるくらいです。いろんな掘り出し物を探すのが楽しくて、食べ物だけでなく、いろんな品物をリサーチ。

写真のグリーンは三重県から頂いた「エアープランツ」。一つ一つに名札がついていて、どれもとても健康そう。ラッキーだと花も咲くそうなので、楽しみです。
