Looking back my childhood and student life, I think I have always liked studying. I was not the smartest kid in the class but I enjoyed finding creative, efficient and fun solution that actually helped me achieve some success as a result.
What I didn't like back then, was being seen as "too serious in studying" or "not too cool". I enjoyed studying but also wanted to be cool, so I used to bring some outlines with me to the hair salon and buy some text books together with fashion magazines. I think that is how I balanced my 2 wishes.
Now I think these 2 should not be opposed. Enjoying studying and Cool can stand together (like enjoying sports is considered as cool). And I wish all the kids think this way. Smart is sexy. I hope "enjoying studying" is the one elements of being attracted (like "Legally Blond").
子供の頃や学生時代を振り返ると、私はけっこう勉強自体が好きだったのだと思います。クラスで一番賢い学生ではなかったと思うけれど、創造的で効率的でそして楽しい方法を探すのが好きで、それが結果的に学業を成功できた秘訣だったように思います。
当時、嫌だったのは、勉強していること自体で「真面目過ぎる。」「がり勉」というイメージをもたれること。「勉強はするけどイケてる」子でいたかった。だから、暗記メモを持参で美容院に行ったり、参考書を買うときにファッション雑誌を一緒に買ったり、しながら、自分の中でそのバランスをとっていたんだと思います。
だけど、本来「勉強するのが好き」と「イケてる」は反対の関係にあるべきものでもなく、両立できるもののはず（スポーツをする子がかっこよく見えるみたいに）。子供たちがそう思えるといいなと思っています！勉強するのはセクシーだ。モテ要素に「勉強家」がランクインする世の中だといいな、と思っています（「キューティーブロンド」みたいにね。）。
